Parla is not just an ordinary lamp; it is a multi-purpose lighting solution that encourages users to save energy. With this lamp, there is no need for any other light during the night. The lamp consists of two parts: the upper part and the lamp base. By placing the upper part on the base, it charges wirelessly, ensuring it is always ready for use.
One of the standout features of Parla is its ergonomic handles, which make it easy for users to hold and carry the lamp wherever they go. The lamp's height can be adjusted to suit different needs, whether it's being used as a study lamp or a sleeping lamp. This versatility allows users to customize their lighting experience.
The lamp's design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. The base is made of brushed aluminum, making it lightweight and durable. The handle is made of plastic, ensuring a comfortable grip. The part that emits light is made of semi-transparent plastic, providing a soft and diffused glow. The lamp also features a touch screen on the convex part of the handle, allowing users to easily control the on/off switch and adjust the intensity of the light.
Parla was designed with meticulous attention to detail. The handle dimensions are as follows: Length: 260mm, Width: 80mm, Diameter: 115mm. The upper part of the base measures Length: 210mm, Width: 120mm, while the lower part measures Length: 235mm, Width: 120mm.
Throughout the design process, Tara conducted extensive research on hidden lighting in interior architecture and the current needs of individuals in their living spaces. This research, combined with her commitment to energy conservation, led to the creation of Parla.
Despite the challenges faced during the design process, such as transforming a complex and non-functional bionic form into a minimal and practical design, Tara successfully created a lamp that not only serves its purpose but also adds a touch of elegance to any space.
Parla has already received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2023. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
With Parla, Tara Derakhshanfar has not only created a beautiful and functional lamp but also a symbol of energy conservation. By providing a versatile lighting solution that eliminates the need for additional lights, Parla encourages users to save energy and make a positive impact on the environment.
